Akua is a 21 year old singer/songwriter hailing from West London, with a Ghanaian heritage. She grew up listening to the likes of Afro Pop Artists such as Daddy Lumba and Kojo Antwi.
Her music is a sultry blend of Acoustic, RNB, Pop and Soul and from an early age she was passionate about music and was inspired by the likes of Estelle, Ashanti and Alicia Keys.
Whilst at school she started playing the piano, writing songs and producing backing tracks and more impressively a week before starting her degree in Music industry management she motivated herself to learn how to play the Acoustic Guitar.
Once she had mastered the basics, she started writing songs meant to be performed on guitar and it wasn't long before she was entertaining fellow students at local University events.
In 2013 she competed in Jump Off and won four weeks in a row by reworking songs from the likes of Hip Hop legends such as Drake and Jay Z.
With her degree complete and practical knowledge acquired through internships at The Royal Opera House and ILUVLIVE. Akua focused on writing and recording her highly anticipated EP, which is due for release in early 2014.
