Ellysa describes herself as an alternative pop singer/songwriter.
This talented singer was bitten by the musical bug at an early age, at 4 she started playing the piano and 6 years down the line she moved to the Cello and at 12 she penned her first lyrics. This wasn't enough for Ellysa as she then started saving for her first Guitar, which she bought when she was 15 and shortly after she also mastered the Ukelele.
It's not just Ellysa's musical skills that developed but also her songwriting skills as she's been compared to greats such as Jason Mraz, Ed Sheeran and Florence Welch (of Florence and the Machine fame).
Ellysa already has 10 singles and four EPs to her name and is soon to release her first album Mind over matter. Her musical influences include The Beatles, Billy Joel, All Time Low and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
If Be Free is anything to go by Mind over matter shouldn't fail to impress, especially when you take into account Ellysa's strong vocals and her deep, meaningful and relevant lyrics.
