Twayn have just unveiled their 'LIVE' album, so be prepared for more of their outstanding vocal harmonies

Twayn are 20-year-old twin sisters Hannah and Grace, from the North East of England

The girls prolific song-writing and ability to produce clever and catchy tracks has earned them consistent radio play with BBC Introducing Northeast, Amazing Radio UK and USA, and they are firm favourites with local stations, SparkFM and Radio Tyneside.

The duo played a host of festivals with their band in 2024, creating an upbeat summer set, playing BBC Intro stage at Stockton Calling, Songs From Northern Britain, A Stone’s Throw, Coast Fest and Last Train Home.

It is the success of this season, and the reaction of the audiences, that has encouraged them to bring out this ‘LIVE’ album.

Twayn sings about the journey of being young women, candidly exploring coming-of-age experiences and tackling slightly controversial themes.

Their perspective is refreshing, as they fully embrace their youth and the complexities of being young and female, without trying to be anything
other than themselves.

Twayn have had a terrific 2024 since leaving school in the summer of 2023.

Up and coming, the siblings have already supported the likes of Maius Mollis, Ruth Lyon, Oliver Pinder, Casey McQuillen, Tors and most notably, Jools Holland at Newcastle’s City Hall in December 2024.

The twins have released 15 songs to date and 2025 will be just as busy.

Their undeniably strong work ethic, professionalism and unwavering determination to break through is creating a strong following locally and beyond.

Twayn have also had two music videos played on Channel 4's Sunday Brunch playlist in 2024.

In 2022, the girls came 2nd place in the Liverpool International Songwriting competition (out of over 22,000 entries) and played the iconic Exit/In in Nashville.

Colorado punk rockers The Vanilla Milkshakes pay tribute to Troma

David McGhee, who is the band's frontman recalls that his earliest horror movies were Killer Klowns From Outer Space and Return of the Living Dead both of which had the added effect of planting the punk-rock seed as he was growing up.

In 2021 The Vanilla Milkshakes paid tribute to Troma by creating a theme song to honour movies created by the independent production company, so if you are a fan of those films then this is for you.

The track sees David and his band unleash fast paced guitar riffs and energetic beats that flow alongside quirky lyrics that commemorate the films produced by Troma.

Lossline are releasing a new 5 track EP titled One Of Us Was Building An Empire

Lossline, a Manchester based song writing duo are following on from the success of their previous album Fading Affect Bias with a louder, more energised approach to writing and recording.

Their forthcoming EP sees Lossline begin with the delightful and mellow track 'A Telephone Call' before transitioning to  'Case History', which has more of a dreamier feel to it in places despite the sombre lyrics.

'This Room Smells Of Smoke' has a haunting feel to it with its stripped back vocals and gentle melodies but the track shifts into a more energetic mood towards its conclusion.

'I Worry About My Health And Caffeine Intake' sees Lossline go all out with upbeat instrumentals and sublime vocal harmonies, this is without a doubt my favourite track from the EP and it's easy to see why this was the first single released from 'One Of Us Was Building An Empire'.

It Takes A Village concludes the EP with the gentle tones of the piano and calming vocals.

The 5 track EP showcases both sides of their sound, from quiet reflective piano driven songs that highlight their folk influences to loud, distorted guitar anthems.

Although the sonic landscape changes track to track the emotion carried through their well crafted lyrics remains the same.

Lossline cover deep personal topics and topics felt collectively by wider society with confidence and this is evident in their carefully crafted lyrics.

Track list

1. A Telephone Call
2. Case History
3. This Room Smells Of Smoke
4. I Worry About My Health And Caffeine Intake
5. It Takes A Village

One Of Us Was Building An Empire will be released on the first of October on all major streaming services.

From “Slutterhouse” frontman to explosive rock artist, fashion model and professor

After the discreet release of four singles in 2020 (Crazy Train, Without a Doubt, Young Love, and World Gone Mad), Grave Jones heralds the release of his first album Heartrage Hotel (Jan 2022) with its explosive lead single Smithereens.

A man of the world, Jones pulls inspiration from his time in academia as a philosopher and writer, in entertainment as a rock star and model, and in adventures that have taken him from his native Lebanon through Paris, Stockholm, Milan and beyond. Between the glamour of turning scuffles with The Libertines into backstage jams, and rubbing shoulder with the likes of Kate Moss, Scarlett Johansson, and Milla Jovovich, and the introspective stretches that see Jones weave his rich and deep experiences into art, Grave Jones captures music quite unlike anything else.

Like its namesake, Smithereens is loud and unapologetic. Heavily distorted guitars pave the way for Grave’s gravelled, textured voice that cries with the raw honesty of a singer reminiscing on anger pointed inward and out.

Combining the heavy guitar riffs that scored Jones’ youth with catchy melodies and contemporary-inspired electronic production, Smithereens captures a sound that transcends any setting or period.

Grave Jones and the Heartrage Hotel album mark Salloum’s long-awaited return to the scene following the rousing success of his previous musical project Slutterhouse that saw him share the stage with the likes of the Klaxons, Sleigh Bells, and Super Furry Animals and working with legendary producers Eric Chedeville (Daft Punk, Sebastien Tellier, Charlotte Gainsbourg) and Dimitri Tikovoi (Placebo, Nick Cave, Kill the Young).

After the band’s success playing festivals across the world like Liverpool Sound City, Dubai Sound City, Stockholm Fashion week, and landing sync details across MTV 2 and EA Sports 2, the band split as Salloum left the music world ahead of his triumphant return almost a decade on.

Nashville Musician Rockin' Rich Lynch Aims to Become "The Talk of the Town" with Latest Timely Track from Music City

Nashville based musician Rockin Rich Lynch (www.RockinRichLynch.com) is aiming to become "The Talk of the Town" and then some on the strength of his latest Music City production. Born out of the idea that simply walking around outside in some places is now viewed as a dangerous and revolutionary act - the four minute and thirty-five second track burns with a slow fury as it seeks to find out if "the lost can still be found". To get the job done Lynch turned to the young gun with the magic touch - Mr. Dallas Jack and the services of his production company Record One. It was in fact on a stroll on the Music City Greenways where the artist and producer initially met midway through the city-wide lockdown in early May. In these bizarre times their first encounter might someday even be read about in a "Ripley's Believe It Or Not" style posting somewhere. "While strolling on a path above the Cumberland River we heard a man cry out for help," Lynch remembers. "We stopped at the same time and ended up together assisting the rescue call that pulled the overturned boater from the cold and rapid waters." For such an auspicious beginning you would expect the resulting song to be impressive and it is. Jack built up an amazing track with live drums, bass and a memorable solo straight out of the classic rock playbook with a modern approach that puts the Lynch/Jack team and their future output high on the Music City watch list. "Dallas nailed it and understood precisely what was needed to bring the straight forward rocker to life," Lynch enthused. "He captured my unique qualities in a process that was easy, efficient, professional and well beyond my expectation. We scheduled some more sessions for our Fall releases and I can't wait to see where we go from here." The composition itself is a much needed response to the lost cause that has been most of a Covid-impacted 2020. With an ethereal chorus and an enigmatic couple of verses, Lynch says that the song carries an important message for an ever-changing and increasingly confusing world. "In the bridge we sing 'Walk, Walk, Walk, Walk, Talk, Talk, Talk, Talk' in a gang vocal style," Lynch said describing the hypnotic middle break. "I think that's the most important part. People should get out in nature with their family and friends and discuss every aspect of what has transpired around the globe these past few months. Over and over again. From every angle. It's the only defense we have to combat the dehumanizing potential of social distancing and mandated muzzling of the populace that has come about in the wake of all this societal upheaval." Lynch is current seeking Sponsors and Artist Patrons to support his future recordings and back catalogue. D.K. has incorporated rock, synth-pop, bluegrass, country, and even pop punk within this debut release

D.K. Lyons, a songwriter living in NYC, saw that challenge and vowed to pour every ounce of himself into his debut album, The Past (Romanticized).

Set to release independently on June 26th via CD Baby, The Past (Romanticized) is an introspective look at past relationships, loss, and life transitions through a pair of rose-colored glasses. With authenticity at the forefront, The Past (Romanticized) will act as the soundtrack to take you headfirst through years of D.K.’s personal life.
“Tom Petty was a huge influence on me from a very young age. He was my dad's absolute favorite, I remember riding in the back seat of his Chevy Impala listening to records like Full Moon Fever, Into the Great Wide Open, Echo, and Wildflowers on end.

My dad passed away when I was 6, so I've always felt this deeper connection to Tom because of that link. It made me want to be like Tom Petty. It's why I started writing songs and picked up the guitar. When Tom died tragically in 2017, it was like my adult self living through my dad's death again too.

It was an incredibly tragic and dark time, but also a time that spawned a lot of really strong songwriting on my part, which is sprinkled throughout my debut record.”
- D.K. Lyons

Showcasing his flexibility as a musician, D.K. has incorporated rock, synth-pop, bluegrass, country, and even pop punk within this debut release. Even with that diversity, he maintains that cohesive feeling you desire from an album.

Each genre plays a purposeful role in the record, helping tie the music into the emotion behind each song.
Invigorate your emotions and let yourself play through The Past (Romanticized). You’ll dance, you’ll cry, you’ll yearn, and most of all you will feel.

Fifi Rong goes for a more mellow vibe with 'Distance'

In the midst of the unprecedented times that we’re all facing, London-based producer and singer/songwriter FIFI RONG shares new single, ‘Distance’, hoping to offer some comfort for those who are suffering from the emotional effects of being apart from love ones due to self-isolation.

'Distance' begins with a gentle melody which goes in hand with hand with the unique vocals, this is much more of a mellow and stripped back tune in comparison to the majority of Fifi's music and the lyrics are simply beautiful.

Available from 24th April on all major downloads and streaming sites, 'Distance' is part of a collection of individual love stories, which forms her upcoming Album, 'There Is A Funeral In My Heart, For Every Man I Loved'. The album boasts the boundary-pusher's signature sound of delicately crafted vocal led downtempo ballads.

Love Is A Lonely Thing has somewhat of a more acoustic and unplugged feel to previous releases

Fifi was inspired by Wong Kar-Wai’s romantic film, 'Mood For Love' and her self-produced single, ‘Love Is A Lonely Thing’ is a three-part production which takes on a different dimension to Valentine’s Day (watch the videos by following the link below).

Narrated by the Chinese-British singer/songwriter’s delicate and well-poised vocal performance, ‘Love Is A Lonely Thing’ tells a story of an unrequited love story.

The song begins with subtle beats and dreamy vocals and then the bass drops but it too is minimal, the melody then goes on to tease us with catchy hooks.

Fifi's latest musical offering has somewhat of a more acoustic and unplugged feel to previous releases.

2019 was a great year for Fifi as she became the fifth artist to be signed globally by W Records– a new music initiative from the iconic W Hotels - and recorded singles, ‘Farewell to Cambridge’ and ‘Way Out’, debuted at W Xi’an and W Shanghai (The Bund) as a part of her most successful China tour to date.

This year will see the bilingual songstress working on more interesting and quirky material for her forthcoming album. After working with the likes of Tricky, Phaeleh, Yello and Skepta, Fifi also set her sights on collaborating with more big names for as well as planning a tour in the UK and China (dates to be announced on her website.)

Gaining firm support from the likes of The Clash, Fader Magazine, Pigeon and Planes, BBC Radio 1 and BBC Radio 6 Music, Fifi’s intricately intimate setting of ‘Love Is A Lonely Thing’ could do no harm but push her further into the limelight...

‘Love Is A Lonely Thing’ is out today on all reputable music platforms.

Awake serves up wonderful synth beats, Fifi's trademark vocals and catchy musical hooks

London-based vocalist, songwriter and electronic music producer Fifi Rong is back with her new EP, Awake.

Awake serves up wonderful synth beats, which along with Fifi's trademark vocals and the catchy musical hooks, means we are treated us to something that is not only magical but also very very entertaining.

‘Violently Silently’ is a release which both delivers and challenges, going one step further in refining Fifi’s distinctive sonic vision and creative palette, and transporting listeners into her very own universe.

Fifi is a pioneering artist who has organically integrated Chinese influences into western pop music. With roots in dark ambient electronica, the avant-pop songstress has the rare ability to glide across an eclectic range of influences, seamlessly blending them into her own trademark sound. She says, ‘I like to challenge people’s musical taste buds and boggle the conventional minds that tend to pigeonhole things.’

Returning from legendary Swiss duo Yello’s seven-date arena tour of Germany, Switzerland and Austria as a special guest, the captivating live performer has contributed to Yello’s album Toy and Skepta’s Mercury Award-winning Konnichiwa. Fifi has also received strong support from publications such as The 405, Clash, The Fader, Notion, Pigeon and Planes, as well as BBC Radio 1 and 6 music airplay.

Awake is the latest in a constant stream of independent releases supported by Fifi’s loyal fan base through Pledge Music.

After her critically acclaimed trilogy of singles (‘Future Never Comes’, ‘The Same Road’ and ‘The One’), Fifi continues to break new ground by taking listeners on a thrilling adventure with her playful versatility and her unmistakably melancholic voice, highlighting her deep, poetic lyrics.

In Fifi’s own words: ‘Awake is about waking up to the truth after you have hypnotised yourself and deconstructing the paradoxes of human nature: subordination and rebellion, pain and joy, self-limitation and liberation.’

All songs were written and produced by Fifi, except ‘Attack’, which was co-written with Nick Ford. The title track ‘Awake’ was mixed by Max Dingel, whose credits include Goldfrapp, The Killers, White Lies and Muse amongst others. ‘Attack’ and ‘Horizon’ were mixed by Late Cambrian’s multitalented frontman John Wlaysewski, who has also worked with Tracy Bonham. ‘Sin City’ was mixed by Leandro Muñoz, who also mastered the EP.

Catchy riffs and beautifully harmonized vocals make this melody something magical

'WOODN BONES' WAS RECORDED LIVE ON THE INTERNET, IN A THEATER, IN FRONT OF 8 CAMERAS AND... IN A SINGLE TAKE!
Thirty musicians including a choir and the jazz saxophonist Olivier Temime melt the genres and the styles to deliver 10 tracks and a unique experience.
The album is now available on AmazonDeezerItunesQobuz and Spotify but also as a CD on Bandcamp

Clint was also kind enough to take time out of his hectic schedule to answer a few questions for us.

How did you get into music in the first place?

I fell for it when I was a teenager and watched the Freddie Mercury Tribute: There was everybody on stage this night, from Metallica to Robert Plant, David Bowie and obviously Queen. It opened a lot of doors and gave me the urge to make music myself. I never stopped since then.

Who were your musical influences?

Queen, as I said, changed a lot of things. Along with bands like U2, David Bowie or The Police, they all showed me it was possible to ‘think broad’ and change style from song to song. They are still a huge influence to this day, as are Radiohead, Jeff Buckley, Archive or Led Zeppelin. I need to be blown away by the human factor and all these artists pushing their boundaries made a tremendous effect on me.

What tunes are currently on repeat on your Mp3 Player?

The last Foo Fighters album, the ‘Raw Sessions’ of the album released for the 40th anniversary of News Of The World by Queen, Crime Of The Century by Supertramp, some Frank Sinatra, The Soul Cages by Sting, the first album of Sons Of Apollo, Depeche Mode...

What’s your life outside of music?

I’m always playing, writing and thinking about new concepts. I’m also a journalist, reviewing exhibitions, plays and everything in between.

If you could collaborate with any singer who would it be?

I’d love to meet and work with Bono, Ben Harper, Dave Grohl, Skin, Björk, Sting, Dave Gahan... All the ones with big personalities!

What’s your favourite genre of music?

I guess it can be labeled as ‘rock’ but I listen to all types of music, as I don’t use tags to name it: It just has to move me, whether it’s metal, jazz, flamenco, electro or anything else. So let’s just say I can switch from Metallica to Vicente Amigo or The Prodigy and have the same pleasure.

What’s next for you musically and are there plans for a UK Tour?

I’m already working on the third album, that should be a concept one. Unless I have another crazy idea before it goes out! As for a UK tour, I’d love to. It would be a wonderful challenge to come out there and try to win the audience, as all my influences are English.

What are your strengths and weaknesses?

I’m able to do a lot of things but I am self-taught. So from time to time I will go back and forth between faith and despair. But in the end I respect and favor the audience, all I do on stage and in the studio is carefully done according to that.

Where do you draw inspiration for your song lyrics?

It depends of the mood but I like to think they all are short stories. I can be the main character or create it entirely, but I always need the songs to tell something. At the same time, I try to stay vague enough for the listener to create his own pictures and really own the songs.

What is your guilty pleasure?

Making everybody laugh, all the time, and at all cost! I’m a bit schizophrenic: Clint Slate’s music is quite serious, and I do it seriously, but I don’t take myself seriously at all. Half clown, half depressed songwriter. Like the rest of us, I guess!
