Attic Empire describe themselves as a dynamic 7 piece space funk music collective from LA, California. They blend Ska, Indie Rock, Soul, Funk and Jazz to create something musically unique.
Their line up consists of Tyler Connaghan - Lead Vocals / Rhythm Guitar, Nick Aguilera - Lead Guitar, Brandon Shulkin - Bass, Robert Conrad - Drums, Gabe Joven - Trumpet, Raymond Fong - Trombone and Mowi Debretsion on Tenor Sax / Keyboard.
Attic Empire's musical journey began back in 2011 when they were still in high school for the Battle Of The Bands at House Of Blues in Hollywood.
It wasn't long till they ended up on the radar of Industry Execs including Producer / Engineer Carlos de la Garza (of Tegan And Sara fame) who worked with them for the recording of a couple of singles in 2012.
After performing at numerous festivals and popular venues throughout California, they returned to the studio to create a high energy four track EP - Astro Getaway which culminated in Space Funk.
Astro Getaway is a beautiful blend of genres, the way Robert Conrad fuses the various musical elements together is a real delight.
This melody sees Attic Empire showcase infectious beats that captivate you from the get go, an eclectic mix of piano and brass and as the icing on the cake we're treated to smooth vocals and slick lyrics.
