Charise "Lake Lady" Sowells started song writing in her teens relying on her trusty voice and a Tascam 4 track. With a penchant for interesting harmonies, her tone reflects music before her time.
She performed with her acoustic guitar and an a capella style which led to numerous collaborations with Singer / Songwriters, bands, rappers, electronic DJs and Pop Producers both in LA and New York and also overseas.
This led to a national tour where she fronted a band and from this she joined more bands before starting her own duo - Lady Lake And The Mountain Men, following on from Lake Lady she still plays live with various acts and records with others - including her own band - Lake Lady Ukelele project.
Charise just released her first single as Lake Lady, which is titled Will Your Feelings Change?
This is one of the tracks from her forthcoming Solo EP which has a similar musical styling to Massive Attack and Portishead.
Will Your Feelings Change? entertains us with emotive lyrics, a gentle beat and Lake Lady's voice reminds me of Fifi Rong.
Charise's vocal performance is simply breath taking as she gives life to her lyrics in a beautiful, smooth and sublime manner.
