Sunrize’s soulfulness shines

Sheryl Mehmet and Lea Rogers aka Sunrize got the Kensington party going on Friday with their cover versions of top soul and disco hits. The duo, runners-up in a national music competition run by Be On The Scene ( www.beonthescene.com ), were invited to perform at their live music event at The Archangel in Kensington.

Their short set took in Funk, Acid Jazz, R&B, Soul and Disco, with hits from the late 1970s through to 2005. They included: My One Temptation by Mica Paris, Boogie Oogie Oogie by A Taste of Honey, Just Like a Star by Corinne Bailey Rae , Apparently Nothing by Young Disciples and Thinking of you by Sister Sledge.

Sheryl's smooth yet powerful vocals and Lea's talented guitar playing kept the crowd happy, who danced, clapped and wooped with joy throughout.
